This just in from Oilers Now host Bob Stauffer, news that the Edmonton Oilers likely aren’t done making moving moves at the 2026 NHL trade deadline of March 6.
“I do not believe the Oilers are done. The NHL trade deadline is Friday. I could possibly see as many as two more trades. OK? It could be zero. But it could be two. You may see a guy get moved out, which creates the flexibility to bring in something else. Time will tell in that regard.”
Later in the show Stauffer said to guest Frank Seravalli of Frankly Hockey: “I think we both think it’s inevitable that Mangiapane gets moved at some point. Is that fair.”

“He’s been in my trade targets board in the Top 10 for a long time,” Servalli said.

1. Stauffer works for the Oilers and reports more inside info with greater accuracy than everyone else combined. He’s talked about the Oilers maybe moving for a third line centre. Perhaps that’s the next target, though I’m OK with Samanski as the third line centre, considering how much in assets it will take for the Oilers to trade away Andrew Mangiapane on his $3.6 million per year deal, and to bring in another forward.
2. I’d prefer one more small move, with another rugged, checking winger brought in to help out on the fourth line.
