Spring on the Prairies brings longer days, milder temperatures, and the start of another growing season. Across Saskatchewan, it’s a time to service equipment, organize shops, and prepare for the busy months ahead. Out here, durability isn’t optional; it’s essential. Farmers and homeowners know every part of their operation must stand up to Prairie conditions, including their garage doors.

Since 1963, Steel-Craft Door Products Ltd. has manufactured residential and commercial garage doors tailored to Canadian conditions. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Steel-Craft’s advanced manufacturing facility produces every aspect of their doors. Steel-Craft is known for strength, reliability, and Canadian craftsmanship, qualities that matter when your livelihood depends on performance.

Prairie-Proven Performance

Spring often reveals winter damage. Warped panels, worn seals, and poor insulation can increase energy costs and expose valuable equipment to moisture and temperature changes.

Steel-Craft doors are built using 100% Canadian steel and aluminum, ensuring consistent quality and performance for harsh Prairie conditions.

Steel-Craft insulated steel doors feature patented Interlock, Weather Lock, and ClimaCore polyurethane insulation technology. These technologies work together to seal out cold air, reduce heat loss, and improve overall energy efficiency. With high R-Values and eco-friendly insulation that is 100% CFC- and HCFC-free, Steel-Craft doors help stabilize interior temperatures whether you’re servicing equipment, protecting livestock, or parking your vehicle.

A well-insulated, properly sealed door keeps your heated shop efficient during cool spring mornings and unpredictable Prairie weather. For agricultural and commercial buildings, this efficiency can lead to significant operational savings over time.

Designed for Your Operation

If you are updating your property this spring, Steel-Craft offers a full range of finishes and colours for homes, shops, and barns. Choose from classic White and Sandstone, rich Cedar and Walnut wood-grain, or custom colours to complement your barn or shop; the right door can enhance both performance and curb appeal.

Introducing Reflective Coating Technology

Steel-Craft now offers Reflective Coating Technology in SC Regal Black, Deep Matte Charcoal, and Saddle Brown. This revised textured reflective paint system is designed for greater durability, improved efficiency, and appearance.

With enhanced UV reflectivity and a thicker textured application, this coating can reduce surface temperatures by up to 15°C, helping your door perform better in extreme Prairie conditions. Originally developed for high-performance roofing and cladding, it has been customized for Steel-Craft garage doors to resist fading, minimize glare, and maintain its finish in intense sun, heavy rain, and freezing temperatures.

Unlike traditional paint, this textured finish forms during curing through a controlled chemical reaction with the steel, creating a subtle, natural depth without secondary coatings. It also reduces thermal bowing, especially in darker colours, helping maintain structural integrity as temperatures change.
