A 24-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with sexually assaulting a teen at a home in the city’s East Kildonan area.

Police allege the man contacted the teen through social media in late February, which led to multiple in-person meetings over the course of several days.

The teen was assaulted during those meetings at a home on Oakview Avenue, between Brazier and Roch streets, a Wednesday news release from police said.

Officers went to the home on Feb. 27, where the man and teen were found together. The investigation was turned over to the police service’s counter exploitation unit.

The man was charged Monday with luring a person under 16, sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police did not provide the age or sex of the teen.
