ROSES AND ROTTEN TOMATOES: Roses for road improvements in Surrey

• Roses to the gentleman who cleaned up the area at the dead end of 141A Street and the pathway into Hawthorne Park. Saw you just leaving with the rake and garbage can. You made my day, as do the few members of our community that take the effort to pick up garbage that others so thoughtlessly toss around. It’s people like you that keep me also cleaning up and feeling better about it. Thank you!

• Roses to Brella for all the information they gave on help and services for seniors. The lunch was excellent, and I met new seniors. Thank you to Newton Seniors Centre for hosting this event.

•Roses to Mayor Locke for all the road improvements in Surrey. The four lanes from Highway 10 to South Surrey were especially appreciated. There are so many improvements, it’s hard to remember them all. Thank you.

• Rotten tomatoes to Surrey residents who litter and throw vape tubes everywhere. It gets worse; there are constantly dumped items, including mattresses and furniture. How much is this costing taxpayers and everyone? Yes, it’s on your rent.

• Roses to the City of Surrey for trying to keep our city clean, but you need to step it up. What about portable cameras? Please put up large signs warning of fines for dumping anything. It works in the U.S.A.
