SEATTLE – Finn Koelle has been tabbed the Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Koelle recorded his first Top 10 finish of the season at the Southern Highlands Collegiate where he placed seventh with a 212 (-4) to lead the Huskies at the event. In the second round, Koelle matched a season-best 68 which he also scored during the second round of the Sahalee Players Championship.

Washington placed seventh as a team in the stacked field with nine Top 25 teams. The Dawgs came into the tournament as the second lowest-ranked team in the field (No. 35), but finished ahead of the No. 8, No. 19, No. 25, No. 29, No. 31, No. 33 and No. 34 squads.

This season, the junior from Germany holds a 72.5 scoring average. He’s led the team in three of seven events. Koelle is tied for the team-lead with Jacob Goode posting nine round under par.

Washington will be back on the course March 9-10 at The Desimone Invitational hosted by Cal at Lake Merced Golf Course in Daly City, Calif.
