The province will announce new health and safety initiatives for Brampton firefighters next week.
Brampton Fire and Emergency Services will be joined by provincial and local politicians on Monday to announce funding for firefighters.
No specific details have been shared about the funding announcement, other than it will support “firefighter health and safety initiatives in Brampton.”
But Ontario doubled the provincial Fire Protection Grant funding from $10 million to $20 million in 2025, and this year has handed out increased funds to departments, including over $300,000 for fire services across Northwestern Ontario.
The announcement on Monday will take place at the Brampton Fire Station 205 at 12 p.m.
BFES is opening the new fully-electrified Station 215 later this year, which will be equipped with two electric fire trucks and a hose tower. The new station was designed “to meet the evolving needs of our service with purpose-built features that support firefighter health, safety, training and readiness.”
Brampton’s new electric firetrucks are also built with safety and environmentally friendly features that benefit not just the environment, but firefighters as well.
