The Vancouver Canucks picked up some late-round draft capital Friday afternoon, sending forward David Kampf to the Washington Capitals and forward Lukas Reichel to the Boston Bruins.
The Canucks are receiving a sixth-round pick in exchange for each player.

According to TSN’s Farhan Lalji, the Canucks did not trade pending unrestricted free agent forwards Evander Kane and Teddy Blueger.
The Canucks indicated earlier this season they would be willing to move pending UFAs before Friday’s deadline. Vancouver did already deal Kiefer Sherwood — who was also a pending UFA but re-signed on a five-year deal with the San Jose Sharks — in January.
Kampf, 31, began the season with the Toronto Maple Leafs organizations before he was put on unconditional waivers in November.
The 6-foot-2 centre then signed a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Canucks on Nov. 15 for the remainder of the season.
Kampf has two goals and six points in 38 games with the Canucks this season.
Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2017, Kampf has 50 goals and 149 points in 574 career games split between the Blackhawks, Maple Leafs and Canucks.
The Chomutov, Czechia, native represented his country at The Winter Olympics this season, recording a goal and three points. He also represented Czechia twice at the World Hockey Championships, taking home a gold medal in 2024 and a bronze medal in 2022.
Reichel, 23, was acquired by the Canucks from the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 24 in exchange for a draft pick.
The 6-foot winger has two goals and five points in 19 games split between the Blackhawks and Canucks this season. He also has six goals and 13 points in 23 games with the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks.
Reichel is on the final season of a two-year, $2.4 million contract with an average annual value of $1.2 million. He is scheduled to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
Drafted 17th overall by the Blackhawks in 2020, Reichel has 22 goals and 59 points in 188 career games split between the Blackhawks and Canucks.
