Motorola’s Razr line has two of the best flip phones you can buy, and as such, we’re eagerly awaiting the launch of the newest models. Leaks are aplenty, as they are always for such high-profile devices — but the latest ones have our jaws on the floor.

The cheapest model of Razr, the Moto Razr (2026) is supposedly due to be available with staggeringly-large amounts of RAM, if the latest leaks are to be believed (via Phone Arena).

Motorola must have found some sticks of RAM between the sofa cushions

The latest advances in the AI bubble have meant skyrocketing prices for various computer components, most notably the prices of RAM. Most manufacturers have kept the amount of RAM in their devices static due to these price hikes, which is why it’s so surprising to see Motorola just tossing RAM sticks around like it’s Mr. Moneybags.

According to Chinese certification alleged to be for the Moto Razr 2026, we can expect it to have variants with 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, and 18GB of RAM.

That’s a massive amount of RAM, and a significant upgrade over last year’s version, which topped out at 12GB of RAM.

However, it’s worth keeping in mind that these significant upgrades may not be available in the US. Last year’s Razr had non-US variants with 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, but the US version was capped at 256GB and 8GB. So it’s likely the 16GB and 18GB models will not make it to the US. Does this mean the 12GB model may come to the US this time, though? We can hope, but there’s no evidence either way yet.

Other potential upgrades include a 1TB version, bumping the secondary camera lens up to 50MP, and a new octa-core 2.75GHz processor. This chip isn’t named, but it’s probably a new Mediatek Dimensity X processor of some sort.

This is a nice set of upgrades for the new model. You’d expect a new processor with any new model in a range, of course, but the camera, RAM, and storage upgrades are particularly welcome. In a year where upgrades are looking particularly scarce, following the Pixel 10a and Galaxy S26 Ultra launches, any sort of spec bumps are very welcome.

How many of them will come to US shores, though? Well, that remains to be seen. Regardless, the Moto Razr is well on its way to keep its throne as one of the best flip phones.
