A man has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run involving a transport truck in Scarborough, police say.

It happened in the area of Brimley Road and Eglinton Avenue East shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Police say a male pedestrian was struck by a white transport truck, which did not remain at the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Toronto paramedics say he is in stable condition.

Police say the truck was last seen travelling west on Eglinton Avenue East.
