Mido has quietly established a strong reputation with its Ocean Star 200C collection, dive-ready timepieces known for their solid construction, stylish design, and remarkable value. Earlier variants, like the blue-dial 200C in steel with a ceramic bezel and the lightweight titanium edition, have earned well-deserved praise from enthusiasts for their design and execution. A carbon fibre limited edition, certified as a COSC chronometer, added prestige to the range while maintaining the accessible spirit that defines the brand and the series. Now, Mido unveils a fresh take on the Ocean Star 200C, a model that combines rugged dive watch credentials with a warm, natural elegance.

The new Ocean Star 200C Green is presented in a 42.5mm x 12.3mm rose gold-PVD-coated stainless steel case, rendered in two parts and finished with a sophisticated mix of brushed and polished surfaces that enhance its visual depth. The unidirectional bezel features a green ceramic insert with a 60-minute scale and a white Super-LumiNova dot at 12 o’clock. A sapphire crystal with dual-sided anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while the solid screw-down caseback, also rose gold-PVD coated, is adorned with the Ocean Star’s signature starfish emblem in polished relief. A matching screw-down crown completes the profile, ensuring a solid water-resistance rating of 200 metres.

The dial continues the theme of aquatic elegance with a wave-patterned, matte green finish. While not the first green to be used in the collection, this new variant has a deeper hue which plays well with the colour of the case. Applied round indices are filled with white Super-LumiNova, as are the openworked hour and minute hands and the lollipop seconds hand, ensuring legibility in low light. A day-date display at 3 o’clock adds daily practicality while preserving the collection’s visual identity.

Powering the watch is the automatic Calibre 80 (Powermatic ETA C07.621 base), offering a generous 80-hour power reserve while operating at a 21,600 vibrations/hour or 3Hz frequency. Enhanced with a Nivachron balance spring, the movement offers improved resistance to magnetism and shock.

The watch is offered on a brown crocodile-style leather strap with white contrast stitching and a quick-release system, providing a refined complement to the watch’s sporty case. And if you prefer something sportier, Mido offers a wide range of additional straps. The Mido Ocean Star 200C Green & Rose Gold PVD is priced at CHF 1,090 or EUR 1,290 and is available now.
