Hello and happy March!
We are already halfway through the winter semester. What is even going on? Here in the Calgary Journal newsroom, we are gearing up for a month of events and celebrations.
On Friday, the Paralympic opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Games in Milano-Cortina kicked off the 10 days of competition with eye-catching performances. As the games in Italy begin, important discussions are being planned at MRU.
On March 11th – Telling the Truth in Hyperreality: Journalism in a Time of Lies

On March 24th – Ethics and AI in podcasting

We highly recommend attending both events, as they will offer valuable information and learning opportunities.
If you are pursuing a career in journalism or communications, the event on March 11 will cover truthful, honest storytelling, and the event on March 24 will cover ethical podcasting tips and tricks.
International Women’s Day will be celebrated worldwide tomorrow, and this team of ladies will be sure to hype up our fellow women in journalism and all fields of work. You go, girls!
