Green exhibitors and vendors are invited to join Sustainable Orillia’s eighth annual celebration of green innovations at Couchiching Beach Park on the weekend of July 25 and 26.

The event is held in association with the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce.

The event will feature a wide variety of eco-friendly goods and services, including electric vehicles, e-bikes, e-scooters, e-boats, heat pumps, gardening and household tools as well as affordable and energy-efficient housing ideas and green business solutions.

“The Green Innovation Weekend is designed to inspire residents and visitors to explore practical ways to live more sustainably,” said Danny Epstein, vice-president of Sustainable Orillia and co-organizer of the weekend event with David VanAlstyne. “The event offers a dynamic mix of learning, discovery, and hands-on fun for all ages, showcasing innovative ideas, products, and services that support a healthier future.”

Exhibits will support green building standards that are guiding construction choices away from natural gas, and will prioritize energy conservation and efficiency. A particular focus will be on renewable energy sources and community-owned sustainable energy solutions. The family-friendly event will also see a variety of food vendors and agriculture-related products.

Event organizers want to raise public awareness of environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions. Exhibitors and vendors are welcome from Toronto to Huntsville and from Midland to the Kawarthas.

“The Green Innovation Weekend will support our transition towards a circular, green economy that prioritizes sustainable purchasing, repair and reuse, and an integrated community where infrastructure fosters social connections and environmental stewardship,” said Sarah Patterson, president of Sustainable Orillia. “Sustainable Orillia seeks to protect and restore our natural environment, ensuring new development prioritizes conservation and efficiency, while at the same time embracing infrastructure for walking, cycling, public transit and zero-emission vehicles.”

High on Sustainable Orillia’s priority list is a reduction in our greenhouse gas emissions, in support of the City of Orillia’s climate change action plan.

Sustainable Orillia is inviting vendors operating in the green market space to participate in this year’s event. Businesses and organizations eager to demonstrate their products or services to a broad and engaged audience are encouraged to apply.

Vendors who register and submit payment by May 1 can take advantage of current rates before a scheduled price increase. For more information, contact [email protected].
