I’m thoroughly disgusted by the actions of the highly entitled public service unions and their leftie champion, Carleton MP Bruce Fanjoy. I thought working from home was a temporary measure during the COVID lockdown.

Perhaps an option for those who want to work from home would be to take a pay cut, say 25 per cent? After all, they wouldn’t have transportation or child-care expenses.

Government unions are behaving in an unrealistic and entitled manner. They seem to forget these people are well-paid with great benefits and pensions. They should be thankful for their jobs and their great working conditions. It’s not as though they’re working in construction, in the elements without indoor washrooms and a comfortable place for lunch.

Work is called work for a reason. They’re not mining coal or logging on a mountainside.

Sadly, I think Canada has reached a point where the entitled left have finally outnumbered the realistic and we may never see a Conservative federal government again.

NEED JACQUES AS PBO

Re: Term expires for interim PBO Jason Jacques, no successor named, online, March 2

Considering how extremely important the Parliamentary Budget Officer position is, giving taxpayers insight into what the government is wasting our money on, Jason Jacques has not only earned the position for the next six and a half years, we need him to continue in it.

It should be mandatory that, when a new PBO boss can’t be found, the interim one remain in the post.

NOT ON BOARD WITH ALTO TRAIN

Let’s see, the existing Via Rail train trip to Montreal from Ottawa is two hours, while the new Alto train trip will be one hour.

I have a lot of trouble getting on board with this, spending $90 billion — some experts say $120 billion (and I guarantee, before this is done, it will be $250 billion or more). They’ll cut farms in half, dead-ending literally hundreds of concession roads, and go through environmentally sensitive areas, all to save an hour on your trip. Madness, I say. I haven’t run into one person who is for the Alto train.

I ask you, Mark Carney, why are we doing this? Just another example of the Laurentian Liberals looking after their own.
