Many have wondered if the 2026 NFL Draft would be the time for one lucky team to end up with the grandson of Archie, the nephew of Peyton and Eli, the son of Cooper.
But it doesn’t sound like that’ll be the case.
Arch is entering his first season as the full-time starter at the University of Texas. He could stay with the Longhorns through the 2027 season if he wants to.
And in speaking with Texas Monthly, grandfather Archie shared his thoughts on the matter.
Archie clarified that he hasn’t spoken with Arch about this directly but knows how his grandson thinks.
“Arch isn’t going to do that,” Archie said of a draft declaration after this season. “He’ll be at Texas.”

That’s as definitive a statement as there has been so far on the matter.
Peyton and Eli both stayed longer in college than they had to, so there’s definitely something to that concept for the Manning family.
Arch also enters this season with just a couple college starts that came last season when Quinn Ewers was injured.
Overall, Arch has thrown for 969 collegiate passing yards and nine touchdowns to go with 115 rushing yards and another four scores.
He’s expected to be a high-ranking pick whenever he comes out for the draft. His last name doesn’t hurt, and he’s immensely talented.
It just might be a little while still before the next Manning takes his big step to the NFL.
