Toronto police are searching for a 47-year-old man after an injured woman was seen screaming inside a vehicle in the city’s west end on Friday.

Police were initially called to the area of Pelham and Laughton Avenues, south of Davenport Road, on Friday morning for a suspicious incident.

When officers arrived, the vehicle had fled. Police then asked the public for help locating the vehicle involved, which was a red 2010 Mazda CX-7 with a missing rear-view mirror and Ontario licence plate DJPN 971.

In an update on Sunday, police said they had identified the driver as Jimmy Minani of Toronto. He is wanted for assault and forcible confinement.

There is no word on the condition of the woman.
