Now that the dust seems to have settled and my blood is no longer boiling, I would like to address the endless bombardment that Brady Tkachuk received from reporters in this city.

Wow, the guy must have been over the moon to have one an Olympic gold and to be invited to the most powerful office in the world, and yet what did he get for such an honour? Our political correctness defenders attacking him on every corner.
What Donald Trump said or didn’t say has nothing to do with Brady, but you would think with the relentless apologies he was forced to give that he had been caught beating kittens, using a puppy as a club.
This city owes Brady a huge debt of gratitude for single-handedly dragging this team up from basement dwellers to legitimate competitiveness.

Let’s hope that, when Brady’s contract expires, we have made it up to him for such shoddy treatment.

International law? What’s that? Means nothing.
Might makes right. Always has. But sneaky can be effective. Corp. Trump knows this.
Those international rules, norms, customs and standards are unenforceable but often quoted by states, especially if they are losing and/or really want to win.
The International Court of Justice (World Court) is a toothless arm of the even more useless United Nations whose privileged judges issue decisions with no enforcement capacity. And we wonder why there are global conflicts.

So, nothing is “inconsistent with international law”. It’s all public relations and manipulation.

BAD LOOK FOR CARNEY
Re: Trust your gut; Carney ignores first instinct and shows weakness on Iran, Brian Lilley column, March 5
Prime Minister Mark Carney’s change in stance from supporting the attack on Iran to subsequently stating that it “appears that these actions are inconsistent with international law” makes him appear to be a coward.
Canada needs a real leader, like Harper, Chrétien or hopefully Poilievre, not a PM who seems focused on appeasement and re-election.
