Yoshi and the Mysterious Book gets May 21 release date on Switch 2

Nintendo posted a deep dive video of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book’s gameplay, as well as revealing its launch date.

With Mario Day (March 10, or MAR10) underway, Nintendo came out with some fun things to show in the Mushroom Kingdom, including the upcoming Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. We got a big new look at its gameplay, after which Nintendo revealed its release date. The game will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in late May 2026.

Nintendo shared the release date for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book in a deep dive gameplay video posted on social media. In it, we get over three minutes of fresh reveals of Mysterious Book’s levels, gameplay, and features. It ended with Nintendo revealing May 21, 2026 as the official release date, exclusively on Switch 2.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is another charming-looking platformer in the long-running Yoshi’s island games. We’ve seen Nintendo go through some interesting visual styles with Yoshi in games like Wooly World and Crafted World, but this one is looking more like the classic Yoshi’s Story.

Another chance to visit the colorful world of Yoshis always sounds like a good time, especially with the character’s prominence in the upcoming Mario Galaxy movie. Stay tuned to the Nintendo topic for more news and updates.
