Wednesday is expected to bring rain, flurries, fog and thunderstorms to the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

There will be showers in the early hours with a 60 per cent chance of showers throughout the morning in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

There’s a risk of thunderstorms across southern Ontario in the morning and afternoon with between 10 mm to 20 mm of rainfall expected. A special weather statement has been issued, and Environment Canada says up to 40 mm of rain could fall in some areas between Tuesday night and Wednesday evening.

There could also be fog patches clearing around noon, the weather agency says.

The high will be around 15 C in Mississauga.

Wednesday night is expected to bring more rain with showers through the evening, and a 30 per cent chance of flurries overnight. Wind gusts could hit up to 60 km/h in Toronto and 50 km/h in Mississauga.

The low will be around -4 C in Mississauga, but could feel more like -12 C due to the wind chill overnight.

Looking ahead to Thursday, there’s a mix of sun and cloud expected with a 30 per cent chance of flurries in Mississauga. The high will be around 3 C while the low will be around -9 C.
