Speculation is growing that Phil Mickelson may miss the first men’s major of the year.
Mickelson, 55, has not played in a LIV Golf event this season due to a private family health matter.
The six-time major champion previously announced he only anticipated missing the first two events of the season in Riyadh and Adelaide.
However, Mickelson missed their most recent stop in Hong Kong and the HyFlyers will be without their captain again this week in Singapore.
No official announcement from LIV was made regarding Mickelson’s latest absence.

But Australia’s Wade Ormsby was quietly listed as the fourth member of the HyFlyers and will play alongside new signing Michael La Sasso, Cameron Tringale and Brendan Steele.
Ollie Schniederjans filled in for Mickelson as a reserve Riyadh whilst Ormsby teed up in Australia.
Now, the question on everyone’s lips is whether Mickelson will play in the first men’s major of the year.
The 2026 Masters begins on 9 April.
If Mickelson does decide to play, it would mean that he would have had a limited number of reps under his belt.

LIV’s 2025 season concluded in August and Mickelson has not played since.
Mickelson will also be acutely aware that he will be falling behind in LIV’s individual standings.
He was previously exempt from relegation owing to the fact he is a team captain but LIV started enforcing the drop last season.
It was a move that helped LIV secure Official World Golf Ranking points before the 2026 season began.
Last season, Mickelson made 12 starts with three top 10 finishes.

In the majors, he missed three of four cuts, with his best finish a T56 at The Open held at Royal Portrush.
Mickelson has teed up in The Masters on 33 occasions.
He has made the cut 28 times and won the coveted green jacket three times (2004, 2006, 2010).
Mickelson missed the 2022 Masters owing to the fallout from his $200m move to LIV.
Augusta National officials claimed Mickelson was not dis-invited but instead chose not to play.

Jon Rahm currently leads LIV Golf’s individual standings.
The Spaniard claimed victory last week in Hong Kong. It was his first win since August 2024.
