Scadding Court Community Centre is hosting the Downtown Toronto Seedy Saturday, a free community event celebrating urban agriculture and sustainable gardening.
Visitors can explore a vendor zone featuring seeds, plants, and eco-friendly gardening products, take part in a community seed exchange, and browse a gardening book swap and sale. The event will also feature free educational workshops, activities for kids and families, and opportunities to connect with organizations working in food security, urban agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
Confirmed participants include Urban Harvest Organic Seeds, Gaia Organic Seeds, WWF-Canada, FoodShare Toronto, Not Far From The Tree, LEAF – Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests, Seeds of Diversity, Toronto Plant Market, North American Native Plant Society, and more.
Free workshops include Seed Starting 101, Reducing Household Food Waste, and Vermicomposting.
Admission is free, with donations welcomed. Visitors are encouraged to reserve a free ticket and learn more on Eventbrite.
