Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a business in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough on Thursday morning.
The death is currently considered “suspicious,” according to Montreal police.
A police spokesperson said officers responded to a 911 call at 7:30 a.m. after someone reported an unconscious man inside a business located on Gilford Street, near the corner of Berri Street.
The man’s death was confirmed at the scene.
Investigators and an ambulance were on the scene and they had cordoned off a corner store, the Fleur Bleue.
Officers were also present in the Metro system Thursday morning, inspecting several trains, though it was not immediately clear why.
