The two men threw down on April 26 — also in London — in what proved to be one of the most exciting matches of 2025. In the end, Eubank Jr. (35-3) had done enough to earn the unanimous decision win on the judges scorecards, ending months of bitter back-and-forth between the two pugilists, which has a deep generational history. Indeed, their respective fathers went toe-to-toe in the 90’s, which saw Chris Eubank Sr. stop Nigel Benn via technical knockout to secure WBO’s Middleweight title.

That said, it was only logical the sons now run it back.

As far as what held up the initial date of Sept. 20, reports state that Eubank Jr. was not ready to come back so soon, which led to a slight rift with Saudi boxing powerhouse, Turki Alalshikh. Now that fences have been mended between the two parties, a date has been finalized and business will go on as usual.

Previously, Manny Pacquiao — who made his return to boxing with a valiant (though neutral) effort against Mario Barrios last month — offered to step in to fill the void and fight Benn (23-1) if a deal with Eubank Jr. wasn’t made. For now, “Pacman” will have to look for another challenge because fight fans will now get the chance to see another potential barn-burner between the two British brawlers.
