Early morning shots fired in Surrey

IHIT has now assumed conduct of the investigation.
Surrey Police Services (SPS) officers were notified of shots fired at approximately 1:40 a.m this morning (March 15).
The location of these reports were reported to be in a residence within the 13900 block of Laurel Drive, Surrey.
Upon arrival, SPS members located a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
SPS members say they immediately provided aid to the injured man.
When BCEHS arrived and attended, the man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
SPS shares that a man was arrested at the scene and is now currently in custody.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the investigation and are working alongside SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.
As IHIT is now the lead investigative agency, any inquiries should be directed to IHIT.
