Strathcona County RCMP say they received a report of voyeurism at a retail store in Sherwood Park on June 4, 2024. A woman reported seeing a cell phone slide under the door of the changing room while she was changing.
“The quick-thinking female grabbed the cell phone and alerted staff,” police said in a news release earlier this month. The suspect fled prior to police arriving.
Mounties say they identified several other videos “depicting victims being discreetly recorded while changing or using the bathroom” during a lengthy police investigation. It’s not clear how many instances there were, or when they took place.
Police say a suspect was identified by the Strathcona County RCMP general investigative section. Authorities issues two photos of a suspect on March 3.
Alejandro Santana Gutierrez is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. The charges against him have not been tested in court.
