Siena Women’s Golf completed the opening round of the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invite on Monday, shooting +22 (310) place fifth in the six-team field heading into Tuesday’s final round.

Originally scheduled as a 54-hole event, rain forced the suspension of the second round Monday afternoon. As a result, the tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday, shortening the competition to 36 holes.

Julia Kret led the Saints in the opening round, carding a one-over 73 to sit tied for second individually. The sophomore recorded 15 pars and one birdie, coming on the par-5 12th hole, and trails tournament leader Wendy Li of Boston University by just one stroke.

Freshman Emily Rensch posted a two-over 74 in her opening collegiate round, highlighted by an even-par back nine. Emely Kintzel finished the round at nine-over, while Chelsea Woods carded a 10-over score in the first round.

Play is set to resume Tuesday to conclude the tournament.
