Shots fired at Newton home, Surrey Police investigating

A shots-fired incident in Newton has Surrey Police investigating.

The shooting happened at 4:45 a.m. Monday (March 16) in the 7500-block of 126A Street, according to police on the case.

That’s where a homeowner spotted bullet holes in his door and front window and reported it to police Monday morning.

“Although the complainant did not hear or observe the shooting, neighbours and CCTV video confirm that the shooting occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m.,” says a SPS news release.

“Currently, there is no indication that this shots fired incident is connected to extortion,” police say.

The home is located in a cul-de-sac near the Action BMX track, according to a Google Maps search.

The investigation is being done with Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) and Frontline Investigative Support (FLIS) officers now involved.
