The Toronto Blue Jays optioned outfielder Jonatan Clase to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

Clase, 23, appeared in 14 Spring Training games with the Blue Jays this season, slashing .261/.308/.391.

The 5-foot-10 outfielder appeared in 34 games with the Blue Jays in 2025 and slashed .210/.288/.300

He also hit .255 with the Buffalo Bisons last season with seven home runs and 21 RBIs.

Clase was acquired by the Blue Jays, along with catcher Jacob Sharp, from the Seattle Mariners in July of 2024 in exchange for relief pitcher Yimi Garcia.

Additionally, the Blue Jays assigned six players to the team’s minor league camp, highlighted by infielder Arjun Nimmala.

Nimmala, 20, is ranked No. 3 on the Blue Jays’ top prospects list after he was drafted 20th overall by the club in 2023.

The 6-foot shortstop played last season in Single-A Vancouver, slashing .224/.313/.381 in 120 games with 13 home runs and 61 RBI.

Also assigned to the Blue Jays’ minor league camp were pitchers Javen Coleman and MIchael Plassmeyere, catch Geovanny Planchart, and infielders Sean Keys, and Charles McAdoo.

The Blue Jays begin their American League title defence on March 27 when they open the 2026 regular season at home against the Athletics.
