The Grey Cup will be coming to La Ronge later this month as part of the Saskatchewan Roughriders Community Tour.
“We think it’s a great opportunity for our community to celebrate the Roughriders, and round out the end of our ice season at the Mel Hegland Uniplex alongside the Crushers Annual Andy Clark Memorial Hockey Tournament,” said Connor Tessier, the director of community services for the Town of La Ronge.
“The event is primarily focused around the hockey tournament, but we think having the Grey Cup here will add to the excitement of the day. Food will be available for purchase from Kay’s Kitchen, and the Crushers Rec Hockey League is organizing some prizes as part of their tournament.”
The tour began Feb. 7 in Humboldt and it has since visited more than a dozen communities throughout Saskatchewan. It will be in La Ronge at the Mel Hegland Uniplex on March 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
