Maple Leafs send Michael Pezzetta, Henry Thrun to AHL

Pezzetta, a Toronto native, got into two games with the Maple Leafs, and tallied nine penalty minutes, including a fight.

Thrun, who skated with the team earlier in the season, did not appear in a game during his latest call-up.

The Maple Leafs look to extend their point streak to four games when they host the New York Islanders on Tuesday.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s status for the game is up in the air as the defenceman and his wife just had a baby.

“He’s resting right now, he’ll give me an update later on that,” head coach Craig Berube told reporters.

Ekman-Larsson, 34, missed Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild due to the birth of his child.
