High housing prices in B.C. can make your eyes water, but this property surrounded by water is dropping its price by $385,000.
Twilight Island sits in Ganges Harbour, a short boat trip from Ganges, the largest town on Salt Spring Island. And on the island in the harbour sits an A-frame cabin with extensions on each side.
The island, including the house, is currently on the B.C. real estate market for $965,000. Less than a year ago, it was going for $1.35 million.
It’s not a particularly fancy cabin, or island for that matter, but it is a private island within 30 kilometres of Metro Vancouver, and less than 50 km from the city itself.
Twilight Island sits among the Sisters islands at the entrance to the harbour. Only about 1.7 acres in size, the private island is a rocky place, but there are some trees near the cabin. There are also a couple of beaches.
There’s a bedroom and a second sleeping space above the kitchen. There’s also a bathroom and a living room. There’s a wood stove for heat, and a propane system.
Outside, there’s a sizable deck out front and around back, a huge propane tank and a shed.
