Interim manager Michael Carrick has provided us with team news ahead of the Premier League visit to Bournemouth

Carrick said Matthijs de Ligt remains out with a back injury which has “proven difficult” but there is more positive news for other members of the squad.

On Lisandro Martinez: “Yeah he’s closer [than Matthijs de Ligt], a lot closer.
He’s getting there. After this one he’ll be alright.”

On Patrick Dorgu: “He’s a bit further on down the line.”

On Mason Mount: “Starting will be too much for him at this
point, I think with the exposure that he has had in training. It’s brilliant to
have him back, he’s a fantastic player and great to have around the group.

“With
the break coming up it gives him the chance to get even more up to speed, so in
some ways, that has come at a good time for him.”

However despite missing training today Noussair Mazraoui is expected to play on Friday: “He’s just ill. He’s not feeling too good.”
