A train derailment west of Montreal continues to disrupt service on the Exo commuter train line.
A freight train derailed near Dorion station at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, according to an Exo spokesperson.
As a result, rail traffic, including Exo service, has been stopped in both directions between the Vaudreuil and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue stations on the Vaudreuil-Hudson line, and some train rides have been cancelled for that entire line.
In a statement issued at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Exo said it is unclear when rail traffic can resume between the Vaudreuil and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue stations as work is still underway to clear the tracks.
Rail traffic is continuing between Baie-d’Urfé and the Lucien-L’Allier stations.
According to Exo, none of its trains were involved in the incident.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City says the two rail cars involved were empty and no one was injured. It says it is investigating the cause of the derailment.

In its latest statement, Exo released a list of cancelled train rides as a result of this disruption.

To work around these interruptions, Exo said commuters can use the 40 bus that links the Vaudreuil station to the Côte-Vertu Metro station.
It also said Montreal’s transit agency, the STM, has a shuttle service through the 15 bus line that links Baie-d’Urfé and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
Another shuttle bus, a service referred to as a transbus, that departs from Baie-d’Urfé serves the Île-Perrot, Pincourt, Dorion and Vaudreuil stations.
