An autopsy has determined a man found dead in a greenspace in Edmonton’s Calder neighbourhood on Monday night was the victim of a homicide.

The Edmonton Police Service says Mohammed Omar, 26, was fatally shot.

Officers found Omar’s body around 9:20 p.m. after responding to reports that shots were fired near 125 Street and 130 Avenue.

Homicide investigators are seeking dashcam or doorbell camera footage from the area between 8-10 p.m.

They’re also seeking footage from 9-10 p.m. that same day for the area of 97 Street/Highway 28 to Highway 37, and in the areas of Range Roads 244, 551, 551A and 250.

Police are specifically looking for footage of a grey 2017 Mazda CX-5 travelling on its own or with another vehicle on those routes.
