Stan Wawrinka will make one more return to the site of his lone ATP Masters 1000 triumph before he retires in 2026: The Swiss former No. 3 player in the PIF ATP Rankings has been awarded a wild card for the upcoming Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
The 40-year-old Wawrinka, who has so far notched six tour-level victories this season and last month returned to the Top 100 for the first time since 2024, will make his 16th main-draw appearance at the clay-court event. He holds a 22-14 record overall in Monte-Carlo, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

Three-time major titlist Wawrinka clinched his only Masters 1000 crown in the Principality in 2014, when he defeated his countryman Roger Federer in three sets in the championship match.
The other wild card announced on Thursday was Matteo Berrettini. Last year, the former World No. 6 upset then-No. 2 Alexander Zverev in Monte-Carlo for the biggest win of his career by PIF ATP Ranking.
Main-draw play at the 2026 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters will take place from 5-12 April. The field at the Monte-Carlo Country Club will also include World No. 1 and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, as well as his great Lexus ATP Head2Head rivals Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
