Several employees of an Inkster Industrial Park business were evacuated following an early morning fire.
The blaze broke out just after 4 a.m. in an industrial/commercial structure in the 1700 blcok of Inkster Boulevard.
The building’s sprinkler system activated before crews arrived, helping to keep the fire contained to the room where it started.
The WFPS HazMat team was also called because the building stored chemicals, but crews quickly confirmed no hazardous materials were involved.
The fire was brought under control just after 5 a.m.
All employees evacuated before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported. Once the fire was extinguished and the area ventilated, employees were able to return to work.
It’s believed the fire was accidental. However, fire officials continue to investigate.
