UPDATE: Victoria-Vancouver sailings face delays as ferries fixes gearbox issue

The aging Queen of New Westminster suffered a gearbox issue putting two sailings between Tsawwassen on the Lower Mainland and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island at risk to start Friday.
Crews managed to stave off cancellation; instead, the 8 a.m. leaving Tsawwassen left an hour late after a gearbox issue. The delay impacts the rest of the sailings on the 60-year-old vessel for March 20.
It will mpact the 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. sailings out of Swartz Bay and the noon boat from Tsawwassen.
