A family north of Brampton has been reunited with their family dog after it ran away during a home invasion, but the investigation into the robbery is still underway.

The OPP confirmed on Friday that Dumbledore, the family’s dog, has been located safe and sound. The over nine-year-old pooch fled the home in the area of Mount Hope Road and Old Church Road in Caledon on Tuesday during a robbery.

The break-in happened before 2 a.m., and police say property was stolen from the home while none of the home’s occupants were injured.

Dumbledore ran away during the chaos of the break-in, but has since been returned home.

Four suspects were seen fleeing the area in a dark-coloured SUV, and investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Police are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to contact the Caledon OPP by email at [email protected] or over the phone at 905-584-2241.
