Suspended since the overnight winter storm hit on March 15, curbside garbage, green cart organics and blue box recycling pickup will resume March 30

Curbside garbage, recycling and organics pickup will resume on March 30.

Pickup has been suspended since the overnight winter storm hit on March 15, and the city has decided to hold off on resuming service “to support safe and efficient road clearing and widening operations.”

Per this week’s city media statements, curbside materials can impede the movement of the equipment deployed to clear city streets.

For the same reason, the city also issued a parking ban, which will remain in place until the Significant Weather Event declaration is lifted. On Friday afternoon, city spokespeople declined to offer a timeline as to when this might take place.

Upon the resumption of roadside pickup, temporary increased limits will be in place for both residential and non-residential properties.
