Football fans in the Bridge City will soon get their chance to secure a seat for a rare homecoming game, as the Saskatchewan Roughriders prepare to return to Saskatoon for a pre-season showdown.Â
The club announced that tickets for the May 23 exhibition game at Griffiths Stadium will go on sale to the general public April 7 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.Â
The game marks the first Roughriders pre-season appearance in Saskatoon in more than 30 years, adding to the excitement surrounding the matchup against the rival Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.Â
Season ticket holders will get early access, with Saskatoon-area members eligible to purchase seats starting March 18, followed by all members on March 20.Â
With Griffiths Stadium offering a smaller, more intimate setting than Regina’s Mosaic Stadium, demand is expected to be high. To help manage availability, ticket purchases will be capped at four per account.Â
Fans attending the game can expect a unique viewing experience. The stadium’s grandstands will provide traditional seating with strong sightlines, while large standing-room areas are expected to create a more social, festival-like atmosphere close to the field.Â
The pre-season contest also coincides with the Roughriders’ annual training camp in Saskatoon, further building anticipation as the team brings CFL action back to the city.Â
With limited capacity and heightened interest, fans are encouraged to act quickly when tickets become available next month.Â
