WWE Championship Status Update After Injury

WWE

An update has emerged on the status of a WWE AAA championship after a recent injury to one of the champions.

Back in November, WWE stars Chelsea Green and Ethan Page became the Mixed AAA Tag Team Champions at Alianzas in Monterrey, Mexico.

They were set to defend the title against Lola Vice and Mr Iguana in February, but due to an injury to Green, Page ended up teaming with La Hiedra instead.

Page and La Hiedra lost that match, meaning Vice and Iguana are the current champions.

At WWE Rey De Reyes tonight, Chelsea Green pointed out that she never lost her half of the championship, and she wants to be recognized as the “Mixed AAA Tag Team Women’s Champion.”

She said:

“There’s just one small problem. I never lost my Mixed AAA Tag Team Championship. I was injured, and let the records show, that Ethan Page and La Hiedra lost the championship. Not Chelsea Green.

“Typical of a man to mess everything up. I don’t need a man.

“So AAA, acknowledge me as your first ever, longest reigning, most dangerous United States Women’s Champion, two-time Tag Team Champion, and current undisputed, undefeated Mixed AAA Tag Team Women’s Champion – Chelsea Green.”

Green has been out of action with an ankle injury since early February, but has continued to appear on WWE SmackDown in a wheelchair.

How Should WWE Solve This Championship Problem

It appears clear that Chelsea Green takes issue with Lola Vice holding the women’s half of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship, so a match between the two looks inevitable.

The question is when/where the match should take place, and there would be a conundrum that if Green wins, would she actually want to team with Mr Iguana?

Really, while that question does exist, it’s probably a non-issue as Vice seems to be the right choice to score the win over Green on AAA territory and continue her reign with Iguana.

One other possibly solution would be that Green teams with someone else in a tag match against Vice and Iguana, although she did specifically say “I don’t need a man,” which might rule that out.
