Tommy Fleetwood is aiming to finally end his unwanted PGA Tour record in Memphis. The 34-year-old is competing in the St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind.
Fleetwood has finished runner-up at two majors and twice been part of winning Ryder Cup teams, but he is yet to win a title on the PGA Tour. He holds a record as the player to have earned the most money on the tour without picking up a victory. However, Fleetwood will hope his luck can change at the St Jude Championship, having finished the opening round in second place on Thursday.
He carded seven-under-par to put himself one shot off the lead, but will know the importance of consistency to stay ahead of the competitive field, which includes Scottie Scheffler and Justin Rose. Here, Mirror Sport takes a look at Fleetwood’s net worth and life away from the golf course.

Fleetwood has earned significant amounts of prize money throughout his career, with his riches standing at £23.3m ($31.3m), according to the PGA. This year, he has received £4.7m ($6.4m) across 16 events, including his £1.31m payday after finishing T2 at the Travelers Championship in June.
His earnings are boosted through lucrative endorsement deals with Nike, Taylormade and Tag Heuer. However, Fleetwood’s wife and agent Clare has previously explained that Fleetwood purposely turns down some opportunities to make extra money.
“You know we’ve turned down loads, absolutely loads because I just know his time,” she told the Performance People podcast in 2023. “I genuinely know that day will be more important to him at home than whatever is being made in the bank account and I don’t care about the bank account either as much, so I’m on his wavelength.”

Fleetwood first met his wife Clare through his brother Joe as they worked together at Hambric Sports Management. The golfer joined the company as a client in 2015 but Fleetwood revealed that he had already developed a bond with his future wife.
“I get on well with Clare Craig, too, who is vice-president of Europe,” he wrote in his Golf Monthly blog in June 2015. She’s always been around on Tour, and I’ve chatted to her a lot over the years.”
Clare became Fleetwood’s manager later that year and a romantic relationship subsequently developed. The couple got married in 2017. They have one son together named Frankie and two stepsons from Clare’s previous relationship. Born in Southport, Fleetwood moved his family to Dubai in 2022.

Tommy and Clare married two years after they began working together, but she initially rejected Fleetwood when he suggested starting a romantic relationship. The 56-year-old was concerned about the dynamic, not just because they worked together.
“We’ve got a 23-year age difference,” she told the Performance People podcast.”Of course, I turned him down. I was like, ‘Don’t be stupid.'”
Explaining how he persuaded his wife to change her mind, Fleetwood added: “Well, she just eventually gave in, think and thought, ‘I’ll just give him some time. I’ll give him the time of day and then we’ll go from there.’ And then I didn’t mess up.”
Clare did consider leaving her role as Fleetwood’s manager when the relationship began, but both decided it could work after a six-month trial period. She explained how being Fleetwood’s wife and agent gives her a unique perspective when it comes to financial decisions.
“I know everything on every side – so there’s sponsorship side, the logistics side, the PR side, the accounts side, everything,” Clare said. “Maybe sometimes too much you know, because then that’s all I think about sometimes but that’s just the different dynamic.
“I look at one question – it might have 15 answers for me. Do you know what I mean? It’s a little bit more complicated for me because I see things you know like – are we going to live? I don’t see it as a lifestyle choice necessarily, I’ll look at it as a business choice as well.”
