It’s been a fun exercise putting together this ’10 Lists in 10 Days’ series — and a bit of an eye-opener, too.
And so, as we come to a close here with the last instalment, what this process has done is reinforce just how many Canadian Football League legends have worn Winnipeg Blue Bombers colours over the years — and how lucky we are to be witnessing so many more still in action.
Scrolling through the media guide and the CFL Record Book we’ve seen so many names from the current or recent rosters dominate all the lists on those pages, from Stanley Bryant, Zach Collaros, Brady Oliveira, Willie Jefferson, Sergio Castillo and Adam Bighill, among others.
Many more are soon destined to cement themselves among future Winnipeg Football Club Hall of famers — among them, homegrown receiver Nic Demski, and that’s who we’re going to zero in on today.
Demski led the Blue Bombers in receiving for a second straight season in 2025, pulling in 67 passes for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games — his third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign.

In the process, he moved into seventh place on the club’s all-time receiving yardage list and now sits at 5,560 as a Blue Bomber, with his 425 receptions ranking fifth in franchise history and his receiving TD total of 39 currently ninth best overall.
There’s a sense, too, that there might be a few more chapters to add on to his prime years.
“Early on in my career, I was always athletic enough and being able to be a playmaker and all that good stuff, but I never was a holistic pro,” said Demski after signing a two-year contract extension just before Christmas. “Being in the film room, being in the weight room, taking care of my body, getting extra treatment, all that good stuff.
“Honestly, until I came to Winnipeg and kind of saw how everyone else was doing it in front of me, to see them get into their routines and see how they handled their bodies and kind of expanded their football IQ, they definitely led the way for me for that. I followed the path and it’s brought me here.
“To me, just to see the success that I’ve had, the relationship with Zach (Collaros), and the relationship with the different coaches that have been around me and everybody giving me their wisdom and whatnot I feel like I can even take my game to a higher level. I’m really excited about that.”

Another 1K season would move Demski into the club’s Top 5 in all-time receiving yardage and certainly lock in a future spot in the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame.
Interestingly, his role in the locker room has transformed over the last few years, too. He’s the receiving room’s vet now and a player so many look to for guidance and inspiration — the same way Weston Dressler once was to him when Demski first turned pro and then the pair ended up being teammates here when he came home to Winnipeg after spending the first few years of his career in Saskatchewan after being selected by the Roughriders out of the University of Manitoba in the first round of the 2015 CFL Draft.
“It’s funny, because I had him there (in Saskatchewan) in my locker-room my rookie year, but I was probably too young and dumb to really get under his wing,” Demski said. “But Weston Dressler, I’ve never seen somebody work so hard off the field as they do on the field.
“I remember as soon as I signed a contract (in Winnipeg), Lapo (Paul LaPolice, then the Blue Bombers offensive coordinator) told me, ‘You’ve got to follow Dressler everywhere you go. Wherever Dress goes, follow. Do what he does. Mimic everything he does.’”
Good advice. And, clearly, Demski listened, learned and has put it all into solid work since. His numbers certainly provide the black and white evidence.
