Danielle Collins is not playing the Miami Open, but she is becoming the leading story of the tournament because of her comments made as a Tennis Channel media personality.
Collins brings to the table a controversial personality who says what she wants and could care less what anyone thinks. She also brings excellent tennis knowledge and insight, but unfortunately the former is outweighing the latter at the Miami Open.
It was bad enough that she shared a never before revealed moment when her dog pooped in front of an opponent’s locker that she does not like during her 2024 Miami Open title winning run. However, it has gotten worse..

Danielle Collins and Tennis Channel are caught in she said/he said mess
On Sunday, she apparently was trying to flirt with Corentin Moutet, or vice-versa, depending on the version of the story you believe. Collins claims she rejected his advances because he did not have a big serve.
Moutet took to social media to challenge her story.
😂😂 how can I unfollow you when I never followed you😂@TennisChannel how can you let someone say BS like this on tv
You followed me
You asked me for mixed dubs
And I’ve never even followed you😂
You ready to say anything so people talks about you
You should learn how to love… https://t.co/plDXqd1wzQ

Moutet needs to return to focusing and preparing for his match against Jannik Sinner, but how will the Tennis Channel handle this? Will the network use air time to address the she said/he said situation and try to determine who is telling the truth? Or will TC go radio silent on the issue and abandon these tabloid-like segments completely without explanation?

Many fans love Collins for her humor and personality. It could be argued that her persona is not appropriate for the Tennis Channel’s airing of a prestigious 1000-level tournament.

When she is speaking during the “StoryTime with Danielle” segments, the vibe is reminscent of Real Housewives or The Bachelorette.
Maybe the adage that all publicity is good publicity applies to Collins and the Tennis Channel. If that is true and these segments must continue, they could be housed on Tennis Channel’s alternate T2 network. Think of it as tennis’s more controversial version of ESPN2’s MNF ManningCast.
