More than 150 employees are expected to be laid off when the SA Automotive Reno location shuts down in October.

The car part supplier disclosed the information in a letter dated August 7th to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

It says the 6645 Echo Avenue location will shut down effective October 7th in its Worker Adjustment Notification Act (WARN) Notice to the state.

SA Automotive LTD says affected employees have been notified of the permanent change.

In its WARN letter, the company says, “this is a permanent shutdown due to loss of business that will affect the whole workforce of 154 employees. Employee separations are expected to be permanent. Employees are not represented by a union or other collective bargaining representative…”

A list shows that operators, shipping clerks, quality technicians and various maintenance and production employees will be affected.
