A fire destroyed a Mississauga home on Monday night.

Fire crews were called to the home on Select Court, northeast of Mavis Road and Bristol Road, around 10:40 p.m., a Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson told INsauga.com.

The two-storey, detached home was fully engulfed by fire when crews arrived, the spokesperson said.

At first, it was unclear if the residents were in the home, but the spokesperson said all occupants are accounted for, and no injuries were reported.

It was unsafe to enter the home, and two sides of the house collapsed, he said. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to one home, but it was destroyed.

“It’s a total loss,” he said.

Residents from a neighbouring home were temporarily evacuated as fire crews battled the blaze.

Around 10 fire trucks and two command trucks responded. As of 7 a.m., one truck remained on scene for fire watch.

It’s not yet known where the fire started or how, the spokesperson said.

The Fire Marshal will be investigating.
