Another night, another round of gunplay in Brampton.

A video that is being widely circulated on social media today shows another home targeted by gunfire.

This time, the video was apparently taken by the person doing the shooting, and although a weapon cannot be seen, what sounds like several shots ring out.

The video was subsequently uploaded to social media by those claiming responsibility; a well-known gang linked to India, that also issued a vicious warning to the homeowner written in Hindi, which has been translated into English:

“He was supporting our enemies, so this is just a warning to him: mend your ways in time, otherwise, next time, the bullets will not be fired outside your house, but inside your house, but on you and your family. So, be careful, no one will come to save you at that time. All of you, listen carefully, whoever supports our enemies will also be our enemy. Any harm that happens to him or his family will be the responsibility. So, improve yourself in time, or they will make your condition so difficult to recognize. (Wait and Watch),”

Peel Regional Police have confirmed a shooting took place just before 3 a.m. this morning (March 24) in the area of Williams Parkway and Chinguacousy Road

“Upon arrival, officers did not locate any injured individuals,” police told INsauga.com. “Evidence at the scene confirmed that shots had been discharged. The investigation remains ongoing.”

Brampton has been the epicentre for extortionists and other criminals who typically operate in the South Asian community, selecting businesses and wealthy individuals by demanding money in exchange for safety or giving up their businesses. If the victim doesn’t pay up or change their habits, they experience threats, including unwanted visitors who shoot up their homes and businesses.

Many Brampton residents report that gunfire is heard nightly and is so frequent that it often goes unreported, as victims believe police alone are not equipped to deal with the extensive crime wave.

In Brampton and Mississauga, the number of extortion-related crimes has spiked since 2020, with 490 crimes reported in 2024. There was a slight drop-off in extortion incidents in 2025, but the number of businesses targeted continues to rise, with nearly 200 incidents reported so far this year.

Anyone with information about this recent incident is asked to contact the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-3311, extension 2233. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to Peel Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.
