Police are searching for multiple suspects after a person was reportedly kidnapped north of Brampton on Monday.
The abduction happened around 3:35 p.m. in the area of Maple Trail Road and Dougall Avenue in Caledon, the OPP says.
The victim was walking on Maple Trail Road when they were approached by two suspects who exited a vehicle, police say.
That’s when the victim was forced into the vehicle, which police say left the area heading eastbound on Dougall Avenue. Police say the victim was assaulted and located shortly after the incident.
No details about the victim have been released.
Investigators believe the kidnapping was an isolated and targeted incident with no outstanding threat to public safety.
Police are looking for three suspects, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Suspect one is described as a male standing around 5’9″, and was wearing a black mask, hoodie, and pants, and black/white shoes. Suspect two is described as male wearing a black mask, hoodie, pants, and shoes. The third suspect was the driver, and is described as wearing an orange high-visibility vest.
The suspect vehicle is described as a grey Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, and police have released a picture of the vehicle.
