The hourly federal minimum wage in Canada is set to increase.
Starting April 1, the new hourly amount will be $18.15, according to Employment and Social Development Canada. The federal minimum wage has been $17.75, and that number was set last spring.
The boost is meant to keep up with inflation and rising costs.
The federal minimum wage applies to federal jurisdictions, which includes international and interprovincial transportation, telecommunication and banking.
