Tiger Woods demonstrated he’s far from finished as he kicked off his competitive return with a classic swing. The 15-time major champion made his anticipated TGL comeback on Tuesday, joining his Jupiter Links GC squad for the second clash of the best-of-three final, reports the Mirror US.

The evening ultimately proved challenging, with Los Angeles GC dominating to a 9–2 triumph and wrapping up the series. Yet Woods wasted no time making his mark.

On his opening full swing, the 50 year old generated a 170-mph ball speed and launched a virtual 272-yard carry with his 3-wood, landing just 24 feet from the cup.

Max Homa’s greeting said it all: “Welcome back, young man!” It marked an incredible 614 days since Tiger Woods had last stepped onto a PGA Tour course, with his most recent competitive round coming at Royal Troon during the Open Championship.

Justin Rose blasts Jon Rahm over Ryder Cup standoff

Both Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy have called on two-time major champion Jon Rahm to clear his outstanding DP World Tour fines if he wants to keep his spot available for Europe’s 2027 Ryder Cup squad at Adare Manor.

After turning down a conditional release from the European tour due to tournament participation requirements, Rahm is believed to owe more than $3 million in penalties.

In an interview with Golf Channel, Rose cautioned that unless the matter is sorted out, Rahm risks being ineligible for Ryder Cup selection, since DP World Tour membership is mandatory.

Rose told reporters: “I think it is absolutely feasible,” when asked if Jon Rahm might miss out on the 2027 European Ryder Cup team. “The line in the sand has been drawn.

“I think quite a few players have committed to the strategy that the DP World Tour has set forward in terms of paying fines and/or playing some extra tournaments to help bolster their schedule.”
