A new grocery store with a focus on authentic Asian ingredients is opening in the Greater Toronto Area this week.

Freshpro Foodmart will begin welcoming in guests at its latest Mississauga location Thursday.

“Exciting news! Freshpro Foodmart is coming soon to Mississauga,” the team said, noting it will bring a wide variety of groceries, including fresh fruits and quality vegetables.

The grand opening will kick off at 9 a.m. at 7333 Goreway Dr. It will be Freshpro Foodmart’s third store in the area.

The grocer can also be found in Richmond Hill at 10488 Yonge St. and in Brampton at 9125 Airport Rd.

Freshpro Foodmart describes itself as “more than just a supermarket.”

“We are a trusted destination for premium groceries, offering an exceptional selection of fresh produce, seafood, meats, and specialty foods,” according to the store.

“With a focus on authentic Asian ingredients, we are dedicated to delivering the highest-quality products sourced from across the region to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Freshpro Foodmart isn’t the only new grocery store making its way to the area.

Next month, Canada’s largest Asian grocery store chain, T&T, will open its latest outpost in Erin Mills.

Located between Dundas Street West and Highway 403 at 3060 Ridgeway Dr. in Mississauga, the upcoming location will officially be unveiled on April 9.

Poised to help serve those across the Halton Region, the new store will be 40,000 square feet and become the second T&T location in Mississauga.

The chain’s largest Ontario store, a 66,000-square-foot outpost at Empress Walk Shopping Mall, is also slotted for a 2026 opening.

Located just steps away from the North York Centre subway station at 5095 Yonge St., the store will feature more than 500 T&T private label items, including pantry staples, dim sum and trendy snacks.

T&T opened its second downtown Toronto location in the Yonge and Dundas area in February 2025. This store came after the success of its College and Spadina store, which opened in 2021.

T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 in Vancouver and now has 38 stores across Canada and the United States.
